About Acupuncture

The type of Acupuncture Mr. Simons practices is known
as Traditional Chinese Medicine, it incorporates the
ancient traditions of pulse and tongue diagnosis as
well as looking and listening to determine an
individual's state of health and develop a treatment
plan utilizing all appropriate modalities including
Acupuncture, the use of Chinese Herbal formulas, Tuina
(chinese massage), Moxibustion (the application of the
heated herb Mugwort at acupoints along the meridians
to relieve deep seated pain and imbalance in the
body). Typically sessions are carried out in an
unhurried fashion to allow time to explore the
patient's underlying condition. People generally leave
feeling very relaxed after a treatment session. There
are many different philosophies of Oriental Medicine
practice and some of these that Mr. Simons has been
trained in are Dr. Tan's Balance Method Acupuncture,
Keiko Matsumoto's Japanese style Acupuncture and Su
Jok (Korean) Acupuncture. Acupuncture needles used are
single-use disposable needles only.
